THE TIME IN BETWEEN

(Magdalene Series #3):

After a painful loss, Cady Moreland is coming to Magdalene to start the next chapter of her life. A chapter that began eighteen years ago but had a heartbreaking ending. The time in between was full of family and friendship, but Cady could never get the man she fell in love with all those years ago out of her heart.

Coert Yeager has learned to live without the girl who entered his life right when she shouldn’t and exited delivering a crippling blow he never would have suspected. The time in between was full of failing to find what he was missing…and life-altering betrayal.

But when that girl shows up in Magdalene and buys the town’s beloved lighthouse, even if Coert wants to avoid her, he can’t. A fire in town sparks a different kind of flame that won’t be ignored.

As Cady and Coert question the actions of the two young adults they once were thrown into earth-shattering circumstances, can they learn from what came in between and find each other again?

Ok folks. It. Is. Time! I have to say, when I first read The Will, I liked Coert and Micky and was hoping we'd get their stories. Soaring soon followed and part of my hopes came true. But alas, I had a while to wait for my Sheriff. But! That's ok right, because good things come to those who wait.... Or so I'm told. I'm too impatient for all that lol.

So here we are. Cady and Coert. I have to say, theirs was not the story I was expecting. I guess I don't really know what I thought would happen. My heart broke for Cady. Through flashbacks, which I gotta be honest and say that at times I wasn't sure how I felt about them, but in the end I enjoyed them, we learn a lot about how Cady grew up with her family and how she and Coert met. Then in present time we see her struggles to decide if she's made the right decision to search out her happily ever after in Magdalene.

First up, her family. They were God AWFUL and I hated them. I like to think I'm a forgiving person.... LMAO ok who am I kidding. I wanted them to suffer!!!! Her mom was a she bit*h from hell and her brother was obviously Satan's spawn. I decided right off the bat, there was no way in Hell KA could redeem any of them! They alone had my heart breaking for Cady and all the hurtful things they put her through.

Next up, her friends. I won't go into too much detail here because I don't want to spoil anything, but I was so rooting for her to cut ties and get herself in a better place. I get the well meaning and the ties to familiarity and all, but she was way past time moving on.

Last but definitely not least, Coert. Now, when we first met him I had my suspicions on a few things but I was still sad for the way that ended and how it led to an eighteen year split between our couple. When Cady comes to Magdalene in the present time to try to make amends and sort things out, at first Coert was the typical asshole alpha. It was not pleasant. I have to admit to wanting to junk punch him a few times.... However, in my opinion, once things started to come to light and he was seeing the error of his ways, I felt that he was man enough to own up to the crap he put her through. I loved that it didn't take most of the book for them to get back together either.

Now for the rest. There was a lot happening in Magdalene this time around. We meet lots of family, get a little side romance story (which I LOVED!), a lil baby mama drama that wasn't really all that bad. A murderer on the loose. Ties to mend and apologies to be given. And through all this we get to learn about all that happened during the time in between our hero and heroine were apart. (like what I did there ;) ) Oh, and let me not forget the mention the total cuteness that is Janie! :) And we get to meet up with our friends from the previous books! Always fun with them.

So all in all, this was another fabulous Kristen Ashley that I devoured in a very short amount of time. In fact, I've already read it a second time. It was a wonderful end to this little series. ❤

About Kristen Ashley:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA and nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorize and she hadn't taken her first breath!). Her mother said they took Kristen away, put her Mom back in her room, her mother looked out the window, and Gary was on fire (Dr. King had been assassinated four days before). Kristen's Mom remembered thinking it was the end of the world. Quite the dramatic beginning.

Nothing's changed.

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana and has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus, she's blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her family was (is) loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write. They all lived together on a very small farm in a small farm town in the heartland. She grew up with Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing, it keeps getting better.
