Rhys Rivera is the star short-stop for the Longview Lumberjacks. Many know him, even more love him. He has a pretty face, a quick smile, and an air of danger about him that everyone seems to adore.
He’s not known as the bad boy of baseball for nothing.
It all started with his father, who decided to be a criminal mob boss, then die.
Fortunately for his uncle, Rhys wants absolutely nothing to do with the family business and runs before anyone can figure out which way is up.
By the time his uncle, the successor to his father’s criminal empire, thinks to look for him, Rhys has made too big of a name for himself to be taken out quietly, and he wants to keep it that way.
Fast forward eight years, and Rhys is living life one breath at a time, just waiting for the other shoe to drop. That shoe coming in the form of a nosy neighbor who has no idea just how hot she is in her mail carrier uniform.
Her sweet little body and positive outlook on life make him want to laugh at how naïve she is when it comes to the way of the world.
The harder he tries to stay away, the weaker he seems to get, until one day he decides to put his morals on hold long enough to satisfy his cravings.
One time is all he needs—or so he tells himself.
But then two pink lines change everything, and all of a sudden, he doesn’t have just himself to worry about anymore.

I have been waiting for this book for what seems like forever! I love Lani Lynn Vale's "There's No Crying in Baseball" series and Rhys is a character I've been very curious about from the first mention of him. That curiosity became even stronger when he made an appearance in Too Bad So Sad, along with his lady love Henley. To say their story has been one I anticipated is such an understatement! And boy was it a fun ride!

There's a time jump in this one, but it goes backwards. In TBSS, Rhys and Henley are already married with kids and there's lots of hints dropped that there's "a story" there in how they came to be together and the birth of their babies. I was so curious and I had a few theories but I was off by a wee bit lol. So when we start Listen Pitch, it goes back to before TBSS so we get to see how they meet. Which I will say was super cute and Rhys showed hos sweet side from the start. Then we get thrown for a loop and I seriously wondered where LLV was gonna take the story for a bit, but not to worry, she had a plan and it was executed with her usual flare of greatness! I don't want to go into too much detail and give any spoilers away, so I'll just say this was a great book and it had lots of twists and turns. There was plenty of answers to the questions we had from TBSS and I really enjoyed getting them! To be honest, after the last book in this series, which I didn't love as much as the first unfortunately, I was hoping Listen Pitch would give me back that feeling I had when I first read Pitch Please. It so did! I loved this book! It had LLV's trademark style and flare and it was a fun read from the beginning to the end! :)

I’m a married mother of three. My kids are all under 8, so I can assure you that they are a handful. I’ve been with my paramedic husband now for ten years, and we’ve produced three offspring that are nothing like us. I live in the greatest state in the world, Texas.
