REVIEW: Cockpit: A Second Chance Romance by Joanna Blake

31282058Cockpit: A Second Chance Romance by Joanna Blake
My rating: 4.5 of 5 stars

Book Description:

She's the one who got away. But I live for the chase…

I'm a thrill seeker. I fly the fastest jets in the world, and ride my motorcycle when I'm on the ground. The only thing that matters to me is speed. Why would I ever think about settling down?

Jenny Reeds, that's why. One look in those hazel eyes and I found a thrill no dogfight could match. For one wild, unforgettable night, she was mine. I wanted to keep her close but she disappeared without even telling me her last name.

I did my tour and flew combat missions in desert skies. But I never forgot her.

Now they have me pushing papers and training new pilots. I thought I'd be bored to tears. Guess who I run into my first night back?

It's her, my wild-eyed, fiery-haired beauty. Turns out she's the General's daughter. But that won't stop me. I'm persistent and it doesn't take too long before she's back in my arms.

Only one problem. She's kept one hell of a secret from me. She had a baby while I was overseas. My baby.

Now I want them both under my roof. Permanently. I've never failed a mission yet and I don't intend to start now.

Cockpit is a standalone novel with a guaranteed HEA and no cheating. This edition includes bonus materials and will end before 100%!

ARC Review: And Then Forever by Shirley Jump

And Then ForeverAnd Then Forever by Shirley Jump
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book Description:

Welcome to Fortune’s Island, where the only rule is to follow your heart.

Love is an extravagance Darcy Williams can’t afford. She prefers the simple life, which includes waitressing at The Love Shack on Fortune’s Island and avoiding temptation. But when a forbidden part of her past steps off the ferry, her safe, guarded existence is turned upside down.

Kincaid Foster has never gotten over his first love. When he sees the wild, beautiful blonde again, dancing her way around The Love Shack, the memories of Darcy’s soft skin, gentle touch, and heated kisses come rushing back. As the privileged son of a wealthy family, Kincaid was too young to stand up to his overbearing father when he and Darcy were together. Now, he’s back on the island—free of the family shackles—and the chiseled, big-time lawyer wants a second chance.

But, Darcy made a promise to keep a secret from Kincaid—a secret that is now a six-year-old girl who looks just like her daddy. If Kincaid finds out about their daughter, Darcy could lose everything. But, she can’t resist the man who stole her heart all those years ago. And it doesn’t take long before both of them realize that anything can happen at The Love Shack on a hot summer night.

This ARC was provided to me by INscribe Digital, via Netgalley, in exchange for an Honest Review.

Darcy and Kincaid fall in love on Fortune's Island. She's the gal from the wrong side of the tracks. He's the guy with the silver spoon in his mouth. She wants a better life. He doesn't seem to know how to stand up to his dad. Is this a match made in Heaven or destined to never be?

Years ago, Darcy was scared off from Kincaid when she needed him the most. Kincaid ends up leaving the island to pursue "his dreams"- more like his father's. Now they're both back on the island and she would be just fine if their paths never crossed again. On the other hand, Kincaid would like nothing more to see his long lost love. Will he still be smitten with her when he learns of her "betrayal"?

Kincaid is back on the island with a secret of his own- one he holds a special place in his heart. He has to do all he can to protect this secret. Fortune's Island will become a safe harbor- for as long as he can make that happen.

As for Kincaid's dad, if has his way, will find a way to make sure Kincaid and Darcy never find their happy ending. He's a big bully who has no problem pushing his agenda on his children and planting seeds of doubt in their minds or bending their will to do what he wants. Can they finally stand up to him, once and for all?

In this story you'll find:
1. Love
2. Lost
3. Betrayal
4. Lies
5. Abuse
6. Secrets
7. Second chances

20878834Better Than Perfect by Kristina Mathews
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book Description:

The woman he left behind and the son he never knew are tougher opponents than any he’s met on the field. Pitcher Johnny “The Monk” Scottsdale has won awards, been named an All-star and has a perfect game to his credit. Known for his legendary control both on and off the field, his pristine public image makes him the ideal person to work with youth players in a preseason minicamp. Except the camp is run by the one woman he can’t forget…the woman who made him a “monk.” Alice Harrison’s three strikes include an unexpected pregnancy, a marriage of convenience and young widowhood. She once traded her dreams so Johnny could have a chance at making it to the Majors. Johnny comes back into her life just as she’s ready to resign as foundation director and pursue her own dreams of finally earning her teaching credential. Her plans may go on hold, though, depending on the reaction when she confesses she may have kept a major league secret from Johnny and her son. With the minutes ticking by until Johnny will leave for spring training, they’ll need to let go of the past and work together in order to win the game of love.
