Review: Elite (Eagle Elite #1) by Rachel Van Dyken

Book Description:

When I won the annual Eagle Elite College Scholarship lottery, I was thrilled. After all, my grandma had just died and I wanted to take care of my aging grandpa -- he couldn't be a farmer in Wyoming forever. And graduating from Eagle Elite meant opportunity.
But I wasn't counting on meeting Nixon.

Nor was I counting on the rules of the Elect.

1. Do not touch The Elect.
2. Do not look at The Elect.
3. Do not speak to The Elect.

And worst of all? Don't discover the secret they hide, because in the end, you may just realize... it's about you.

*This is a New Adult Book, blood, violence, cursing, sexual references, and drug use. Not recommended for those under 17.*

Tyra is determined to keep her job and keep away from Tack. But she makes a big mistake. During their head-to-heads, she lets it all hang out and shows Tack she is who he’s looking for. And Tack has had a good woman slip through his fingers, he’s not about to let that happen again.

Although Tack colors Tyra’s world with a vibrancy that’s blinding, being with him means she has to live in his Motorcycle Club world. Full on, no holds barred. And since Tack’s world, not to mention Tack, is a little scary, Tyra isn’t so sure.

It's Tack's job to convince her.

Review: Feral Sins (The Phoenix Pack Series) by Suzanne Wright

Book Description:
If your inner wolf and your body react rather enthusiastically to a psychotic Alpha male who’s own wolf has a tendency to turn feral, it can’t be a good thing, can it? Entering into a bargain with him wouldn’t be good either. Unfortunately, Taryn Warner, a latent wolf shifter, doesn’t have many options open to her right now. Okay, she has no options. Basically it comes down to whether she’ll do what it takes to escape the arranged mating with the sick SOB that her father set up. As the answer in this case is yes, it looks as though she’ll have to agree to Trey Coleman’s deal…she’ll have to mate with him instead.

Having always disliked shifter politics, Trey Coleman hadn’t bothered trying to form alliances with other packs. Now that his uncle – a wolf with many alliances – means to take Trey’s territory and his pack, he has no option but to form some alliances of his own very quickly or he’ll be easily outnumbered in the upcoming battle. He figures that the easiest way to do that would be to mate with a female who’s Alpha is powerful and influential. There’s only one problem with that – he would then be stuck with her, and the last thing Trey wants is a mate. When he hears of Taryn’s situation, he offers her a deal – if she falsely claims he’s her true mate and allows him to claim her, he’ll save her from her arranged mating and then let her leave after the battle with his uncle is over.

Sounds like a pretty straightforward deal...but soon Taryn and Trey realize they got more than they bargained for. Their mating instincts to protect and possess are weighing on them, they crave each other’s touch and company, and their inner wolves don’t like it whenever they’re apart. Add in that they’ll have to deal with this for an entire three months until the day of the battle finally arrives, and they’ve got themselves a recipe for disaster – or maybe for something quite the opposite.

Warning: This novel contains an extremely sarcastic Alpha female, a broody possessive Alpha male, bitter in-laws, voyeuristic enforcers, a whole lot of dirty talk, and steamy bedroom battles for dominance. Reader Advisory: This book also contains a graphic ménage scene - not for the faint-hearted.

I've thought about this a lot and I've decided not to write a detailed review for this book. I just can't see myself being able to control my fingers and I know I'll end up putting in spoilers and this is a book that doesn't need to be spoiled in any way! I will say that I absolutely loved it! It was amazing. So much, that I hadn't planned on reading it until I finished a different book first, but once I saw some awesome reviews I thought I'd just take a peek and the next thing I knew it was way past my bedtime and I was done. I loved it. It was an emotional roller coaster. I laughed. I cried. I was pissed and I fell in love. It was fabulous. I can't believe this is a debut novel. (That makes two debuts I've read this week that the authors hit it out of the park on their first try!) I was amazed at the awesomeness. I did read a few spoilers in some other reviews so I wasn't sure how I was gonna feel about this but oh man! The twists and turns and .... Ok I need to stop now before I get on a roll! Go. Read. This. Book.

Reaper's Property by Joanna Wylde

Book Description:

Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.
Maybe.

Ok first let me just say that I have read A LOT of books in my time and out of every. single. one. I seriously cannot think of another leading lady that I absolutely love more than I do Ember Walsh. (There are a few that come close) She is the most awesomely written female lead ever. Strong, independent, emotional, sweet, loving, giving does not put up with SHIT!. And trust me, as much as I completely loved Trace at the end of this book, he gave her a lot of shit throughout that other heroines would not have been able to deal with! I was literally blown away by this book. It'd been on my TBR for a while and my buddy read pal Lindsay decided this should be our next book, which I readily agreed to. However, it was not at all what I expected. I honestly can't even say what I did expect, but I am so glad I finally got to this book. It was amazing. A few typos here and there but other than that it was flawless! I'm not even kidding. Beautifully Damaged is definitely one of those books that stays with you long after you've put it down and moved on to other books. I stayed up til 6:30 in the morning just to finish this book! It made me want to cry, laugh, jump up and down (which I actually did a few times), scream, hit something and most of all, it made me fall in love with every single aspect of it! I had planned on doing a review of gifs to express how much I loved this but the words are just pouring out so I'll add a few but that's all. I cannot recommend this enough! L.A. Fiore, you have a new fan and I cannot wait to see what you come up with next! (Please let there be books for Lucien, Rafe, and maybe even Luke!!!) :D:D:D

Here are a few gifs that come to mind:(I'm adding the spoiler tag since there ended up being more than a few...)

Extreme Love by Abby Niles

Book Description:

New body. New clothes. New men.

At first she pushes him away, refusing to encourage the attention of a cage fighter. Then she learns Dante has a love ‘em and leave ‘em reputation. Now Caitlyn must accept Dante—violent career and all—or let him go.

Dante “Inferno” Jones has one goal: win the Welterweight Championship. At a time when focus is crucial, the last thing he needs is a distraction. Yet Caitlyn Moore becomes a challenge he can’t resist. When the light-hearted pursuit shifts to a battle to win her heart, his focus is shot. Faced with losing the biggest match of his career, Dante must decide if his extreme life also has room for Extreme Love.

I'm having a hard time deciding what to write for this review. On the one hand, I really wanted to like this book. It has a great sounding blurb, a hot cover, and so much promise with he description of the characters. But on the other hand there was something missing. I found myself zoning out every now and then and towards the end I even skimmed a little. Bare with me while I try to put my feelings into words. First let me talk about Dante "Inferno" Jones. He was awesome! A super hot MMA fighter who, while is a total badass, also has a sweet side. He was tired of all the fighter groupies and when he saw Cait there was an immediate attraction. He pursued her even when most normal people would say F-it and give up. He had his work cut out for him with that girl too! I liked his character a lot and I can't really think of anything negative about him. On to Cait. She bugged me but at the same time I felt for her. Going into this I had no idea there would be a deeper meaning hidden with the weight issues. Being a female who has struggled with weight in my adult life, especially after having kids, I connected with her on that level. Fortunately for me I never had to deal with the meanness of others the way she did, but I could empathize. On to the bugging. I get that after all she's been through with her weight loss journey, and her lack of romantic experience, she would have a hard time accepting a man as hot and experienced as Dante would be interested in her. BUT after his insistent persistence, you'd think she'd take a hint. Nope. It took the entire book for her to come to the realization that not all men are jerks and she was worthy Dante. So there were a few times I wanted to smack her for being ridiculous, but by the end I was happy with the outcome. The supporting characters were pretty great. Paul absolutely stole the show IMO. He was hilarious. I can see myself reading another book from this author, and if this becomes a series I will check out the next book.

Finding Fate by Ariel Ellens

Even still, Isabella can't stop thinking about him.

Soon Colt gets her to step out from behind the counter, and explore what she wants. The more Isabella explores herself, the more she falls for Colt, even against his caution.
