Title: The Demon Who Loved Me

Series: Big Bad Bite Series #4

Author: Jessie Lane

Genre: Paranormal Romance

Release: May 28, 2017

 He’s a gambling man…

One brunette bombshell with a devious mind and a potty mouth has thrust Kent smack dab in the middle of where he never wanted to be—his family. He’s spent most of his life avoiding his familial responsibilities, especially the one that required him to join the Ninth Circle Council—the demon society’s equivalent of judge, jury, and executioner. Then one lost bet with a little Amazon flips his entire life upside down. With worries about retaliation from the remnants of a rogue pack of wolves in Germany, he doesn’t have time to deal with his family, or his obsession with Chloe Demos.

And she’s the biggest risk he’ll ever take…

After her mother’s death, Chloe’s world crashes down around her. A secret Amazonian heritage. Aunts and a long lost brother she never knew about. Supernatural beings. With all of the sudden changes, she’s decided it’s time to step out from behind her façade of an air-headed, materialistic bimbo and show her sisters she truly does love them—she only hates their wardrobes. What better way to show she cares about her family than to help prove someone close to one of them is innocent of the bogus murder charges from some ridiculous council? Chloe has no scruples about calling in the marker the demon Kent owes her in order to do just that. It’s only too bad she’s underestimated Kent’s intelligence, and his playboy charm.

OMG FINALLY! I have been not-so-patiently waiting for Kent's book for what seems like forever! Lol But let me just say... It was soooo worth the wait! Once again the fabulous Jessie Lane has cemented her status as one of my all time TOP favorite authors! As well as being my first. To stalk that is! ;) That's right folks. The amazing Ms. Lane was the one and only that I 'got my feet wet' in my author stalking. I fell in love with her paranormal world with Big Bad Bite and then again in Walk on the Striped Side. I have loved these characters for years and Kent was one I couldn't wait to read about. So you can only imagine my ecstatic-ness for getting the opportunity for an ARC!

One thing I want to say right off, it's been a while since I have visited this world and since I didn't have time to do rereads of the aforementioned books, I was a little worried I might have forgotten some details which would make me sad. However, the great thing about JL, is that she seemed prepared for this and any details I might have needed were provided in mini recaps. :) Anyhoots...  Kent is a hot as hell (hee hee) demon who is also Jenna's (BBB) SWAT partner. He's known to be a ladies man and not real open about his powers. In the beginning we go back a little to when he initially meets Chloe at the bar (a scene from WOTSS) and is basically struck dumb. Chloe is quite the woman. She takes no sh*t and is very stubborn and headstrong. Just what Kent needs! :)

The bare bones of the plot is a continuation from WOTSS, where Gage's sister has been accused of murder. Chloe takes it upon herself to try to clear her name. Meanwhile, Kent is also working on that as well as trying to get behind the walls Chloe has erected around herself. The back and forth between these two was hilarious and filled with so much chemistry, I couldn't wait for their explosion! Chloe comes from a long line of Amazons, and she doesn't need a man. Or so she tries to tell herself. It was funny and sometimes frustrating to see her and Kent circling each other. I half wanted to cheer her on for making him work for it and half wanted to smack her and tell her to give in already! They were perfect for each other and as far as working the case, they made a great team.

Loaded with hilarious dialogue, some intrigue and sexual chemistry, The Demon Who Loved Me had me hooked from page one. I devoured it! I love this world and JL's writing and I LOVED this book! There was even a little bit of a setup for a novella (I think) for the next book. I honestly can't wait for that! And I also hope she plans a book for a certain other demon on the council.... *hint hint* ;)

Overall, this book was an awesomesauce addition to the series! I look forward to whatever Ms. Lane has in store for us next!

I didn’t notice her before…but now I do.
The shiny strands of gold in her silky brown hair.
Tiny crinkles between her eyebrows when she frowns.
Her passion for neatness.

Once I focus on her, I can’t take my eyes from my newest obsession. Ever.
I need to know everything about her.
Her past. Her present.
The way she takes her coffee.
Exactly how she smells after a spritz of perfume in the mornings.

She’s perfect in every way and I was blind.
But, God, now do I see.

I notice the organized way she arranges her clothes in her closet.
How she visits the same market each Saturday.
The sounds of her breathing as I lie beneath her bed in silence.

Violet is mine.
She just doesn’t know it yet.
