What’s wrong with my butt? She means those words to be directed toward the woman beside her, not him. But he can’t stop himself from answering. Not when her ass is the most magnificent thing he’s seen in his life. Apparently, answering her with ‘not a damn thing’ wasn’t what she was expecting. She likely wasn’t expecting the baseball she took to the face at his next at bat, either. All it takes is one ill-fated foul ball, and George Hoffman, Lumberjacks center fielder, falls head over heels in love with Wrigley Field—and yes, that is her real name. From that point forward, George and Wrigley fall into a fast whirlwind love that ends with them eloping to Vegas. And he has his potty mouth, titty bar owning, pain in the ass grandmother to thank for it. Not that he’s complaining or anything. Who wouldn’t want to be married to a woman that made his heart race like he was in the final game of the World Series? The only problem is trying to convince her of that.

I say 3 stars and that's all for Georgie porgie

Oh god. Please no. Don't call him that! Georgie Porgie makes me think of Babes in Toyland ( the Keanu Reeves version 😉)

As awesome as he was, he just wasn't strong enough to carry the load of crap that was the rest of this book. 😒

That's where I disagree with you. I think he carried it quite well however he wasn't given much to work with. He did not deserve the crap he was put through. All he wanted to do was keep his wife and son safe and he got punished for that. And then, when all he wanted was his family back, his wife couldn't see past her ego to let that happen.

He did carry it well, but it wasn't enough for me to give it a higher rating

Oh no, same here. If it hadn't been for George I don't even think this book would have gotten a three for me. At least not past part 1. I did love the first part. I love seeing how they met how they fell in love and how they ended up married that was awesome. I just wish it had continued that way.

And yeah, I felt like he totally got dealt the crappiest hand. He was an awesome guy and I hated that he was surrounded by morons. Except his Grams. She was the bomb. And I did really enjoy the first part. It was fun and light hearted and I loved how they met and fell for each other so quick.

Agreed. If I were reading the book on the first half alone it would totally be five stars. But unfortunately so much other crap came after that.

I concur

And I'll be honest, I could have easily given this book four stars if not for the unnecessary love triangle drama towards the end of the book. I could have overlooked some of the issues I had for just pure storytelling alone but with all of my issues, and all of the books issues I just couldn't justify higher than a 3

That, and just the way Wrigley was so reluctant to finally admit to George she was wrong and shouldn't have sided with her sister. Not to mention I couldn't get past all the discrepancies. They added up to be too much to overlook

Since you brought it up, let's talk about that situation. No one in their right mind would side with their sister after she shot it your husband and was standing over your child with a gun in her hand in the middle of the night. There is no way any sane person would be okay with that. And you're right, there were too many discrepancies between this book and the first book in the series to be ignored.

Absolutely.  I just can't wrap my head around why she would kick him out and divorce him when he just wanted his family safe.

I can't either. I guess I could have understood her trying to come to her sisters defense because she didn't want to admit that there was something wrong with her still. But at the same time I'm not even a parent and it bothers me that this woman was standing over a child in the middle of the night with a gun. It's not like she heard something in the middle of the night got up, grabbed a gun, and went to investigate. She was already standing over the child with said gun in her hand when George came home and went to check on his son.

The discrepancies were insane! I even pulled up the first book on my phone to verify certain parts. And where did she even get the gun?! And WHY she have a gun!?

I had that thought too. I know that a lot of people own guns. But I never got the impression that Wrigley or George had a gun.

Like talk about random! I know its Texas and all.... but still 😉

I think we can both agree, that if someone is looking for a good book to read, they should just read that guy by Kim Jones

Absolutely!!! 😂😁

Skip this read that... Guy by Kim Jones

Are we done with this book?

I think so. Do you have anything else to say?

No. I think if we get into her siblings and his we would be here all night 😳

This is true. They were awful. 'Nuf said.

So, all of that was basically 3 stars. 😐
