I’m
kind of a lady, but definitely more of a weirdo.
Hearing
the woman at the table behind him say that to her friend should’ve turned Logan
Gibbs off.
It
doesn’t. In all honesty, it only makes him listen harder.
He’s
had enough weird in his life to last a lifetime. The last thing his complicated
life needs is a woman in it who has no clue what color you get when you mix
yellow and blue together.
Yet,
her obvious blonde moments aren’t enough to deter him. Nor is her lack of
finger-painting skills.
I’m
a cop, not a miracle worker.
Hearing
the man in the group behind her say that should’ve had Katy Roberts running
away as fast as her feet would carry her. Katy’s father’s a cop, and it’s hard enough
to live her life with Daddy trying to dictate her every move. She needs another
cop in her life like she needs yet another thing to go wrong.
To
add onto that, she can’t find a job, has no love life to speak of, and has to
be the oldest known virgin in Kilgore, Texas.
Yet,
when she sees his painting—a painting that resembles a piece of the male
anatomy more than the lighthouse they were supposed to be painting—she knows
that she has to give him a chance.
The
very last thing the two of them expect is for her father and his boss to force
them to marry after an eensy-weensy accident. An accident that, surprisingly,
both of them want.
Ok, so today we're confessing all of our LLV sins!
Sins?! Oooo do tell š
Lol. "Forgive me author for I have sinned...its been (checking watch) 5 hours since I've last read a book"... Well, we are CONFESSIONS of 2 Book Lovers...and what else are we supposed to confess!? I guess it could be secrets...š
Lol true true. So let's get to it. This is LLV's latest, Hide Your Crazy. And tbh, I was a little crazy wanting to read this...What did you rate it?
Omg. Me too!!!! I've been dying for this book since I first read the blurb. I ended up giving it a solid 4.5
I've been really into the last several books LLV put out and this one was definitely hard to wait for! I also gave it a solid 4.5!
That's where we differ...her books have been hit and miss with me. I couldnt get into theblast one, but this one totally worked for me.
Honestly there have been some lately that just didn't work for me too, but the last several have been like LLV from when I first found her and had to devour them. I really liked HYC!!
I'll admit, that I found the mystery or suspense portion of the book to be extremely predictable. As soon as the 1st murder happened I knew who did it. I'm not complaining or criticizing I'm just stating a fact. It was very obvious to me who the "bad guy" was.
I do have to agree on that. But honestly, I really liked the story between Katy and Logan and I feel like we're such veterans that it takes a lot to actually surprise us at this point lol
Lol. That's true. I would have more surprised if I was wrong about the bad guy, and if Katy hadn't ended up pregnant.
Lol exactly.
Granted, I was rooting for her and Logan to be able to have kids together because they were such a great couple.
Yes! I was really invested in them. Their banter was great. I wanted them to get to the family stage fast and was happy when they did
Me too. I must admit, I wasn't the biggest fan of the story line regarding his ex, but I don't really have any complaints about it either. I just hated that everybody believe the worst of him including his own family, without even listening to his story.
Omg yes! I hated her! And it made me so angry they all just wrote him off as a jerk without even asking what the deal was! š”
I also didn't like when her dad was talking about why he didn't like Logan, and all of the reasons we're just really stupid and they just didn't resonate with the character that I had come to know up to that point. It would have been more believable if he had said it was because Logan had left his pregnant wife or recently given birth wife or whatever and walked away from her and the baby. At least then you would understand why. But the reasons he gave were completely stupid and it was like her dad was talking about a completely different person than the one that we had come to know up to that point.
Yeah I know what you mean. And honestly, when I read her dad's book way back when, from what I can remember he want like that in his own book so I wasn't too happy with that either.
ššš is it horrible that I don't remember her dad's book!? I wondered if she was a second generation character, and if her parents had had a book that I thought but I just couldn't remember it if they did.
I barely remember it but I know it was one I liked
Anything else to say? I think I got my venting out š. I enjoyed the book overall.
I really liked the book overall. I'm excited for this new series!
Me too! And I believe we're agreed on a 4.5 rating
And honestly, other than how everyone believed the worst of Logan and his stupid ex, I don't really have anything negative to say about it.
Same here. I don't really have any complaints or negative things to say
