THE WRIGHT BROTHER
by K.A. Linde
I'd dated his brother.
He didn’t remember and I wish I could forget.
I may have sworn off the Wright family a long time ago. But
when I returned home, Jensen Wright crashed into my life with the confidence of
a billionaire CEO and the sex appeal of a god. Even I couldn’t resist our
charged chemistry, or the way he fit into my life like a missing puzzle piece.
Too bad he’d forgotten the one thing that could destroy us.
Because Jensen Wright doesn’t share. Not with anyone. And if
his brother finds out, this could all go down in flames.

Once a upon
a time, a friend told me about an author. She compared this author to her love
of the book Thoughtless. And that same friend told me that I shouldn’t read
that particular series because if Thoughtless had almost done me in, that
series would certainly be my doom. So even though I knew of KA Linde, I’ve
never read anything by her before. But upon seeing this book, and being gripped
by the blurb, I knew that I had to take the leap and give her stuff a try.
I loved the
beginning of the book. I really liked Emery and how upon finding her boyfriend
cheating, she took charge of her life and made changes that were necessary to
her happiness. I also liked Jensen. You could tell that he loved his family,
and hated to see any of them go through difficulties. And when they “met”….fireworks.
Their first date was magical. Definitely not something you’d expect of a
billionaire. They’re chemistry was off the charts. But the next morning…it was
everything I’d expect after hearing about the author’s fame with angst. And I
was ok with it. I expected it and that lived up to my expectations. Jensen was
running scared and reacted as I would expect…an asshole. I sat back with my metaphorical
popcorn and let the story play out for me.
I really
didn’t like Landon. I felt like he was weak and a bully. He dumped Emery 10
years ago, why should he care that she’s moved on and dating his brother. He’s happily
married. It’s not like Emery cheated on him with Jensen, or broke up with him
for Jensen and it all happened yesterday or last week. It’s been 10 years. The
guy needed to grow up. Once Landon found out about Emery and Jensen, I started
having issues. The drama seemed unnecessary and just prolonged the book. I got
frustrated.
I did enjoy
Emery & Landon’s story, and I’m even intrigued by the other Wright siblings
(minus Landon) but this one wasn’t a full out home run for me.
